@El Guapo and I have been discussing him making a display for my blanks in exchange for some wood. Here is the display material(i know I'm going to be killed over this), box elder burl. It's 1.75x8.25x10.5. Moisture still reading from 6%-24%. Might have to wait a while to start cutting. The live edge Russian olive is around the size it looked like you need for coin displays and it's pretty much dry. I'll toss in other stuff to fill the space in the mfrb. Just let me know what you want and I'll stuff it. 20150817_132055.webp 20150817_132115.webp 20150817_132258.webp

Looks good, Norman! I'm not picky on what goes into the rest of the box... just anything I can use. I'll PM you my address.

Look great! They'll either make displays or small desk clocks! That was quite efficient photography, my friend!

I try. I didn't feel like measuring. Lol! Been doing a bit of cutting today.

Got the box today... everything looks great! If it is all right with you, I'm going to give it a week or two before cutting the display so that it can dry just a bit more. IT seems pretty dry already, but I don't want it moving on you after it is finished!

I completely agree with that assessment. Thanks!

Hey Norm, it has been about a month in the Houston heat in my garage. I feel like it is safe to start working on the display without fear of it moving on us. I'll keep you posted!

I have no idea why, but for some reason I had trouble getting a good finish on this that would make the color and figure pop, but wouldn't be so glossy that it would cause an issue for pictures with a flash. I've never had any issue with getting the exact finish I want on FBEB, but finally I think I got the right one here. This is pretty simple, but should really be a nice display for your blanks. One side is cut for pen blanks (spaced enough for the over-sized 1" blanks), and the other is for knife blocks/stopper/game call blanks. I hope you like it, Norm! Sorry it took so long to get this done!
