After I delivered my packages to the post office today, my maiol lady said "You have a box in the locker." I said "I don't . . " and she cut me off "Yes I know. You lost your key. Hang on a minute."

So she hands me this large flat rate box that weighs a lot. I thought "Oh no! Someone didn't like my wood?!" So I look at the label to see who it is and it's . . it's . . . "Huh? I haven't sent him any wood in a year or two."

I couldn't wait until I got back home so I'm tearing open the box driving down the road. Because I'm a woodaholic, and I know what kind of wood this guy deals in. AWESOME wood.

That's all I'm gonna say. I'll post pics later (really - I won't let it slide this time like I usually do) so y'all can see what a great guy my new bestest good friend is. :dance2:

I figure I'll be sending a thank you card . . . . in a box. :mail1:

Thanks Rich. Honestly, it means a lot to get something like this unexpected. You're alright, I'm going to have to quit talking bad about you.

Hi, I'm Paul and I'm addicted to wood. While Kevin is standing there tongue-tied, I'll tell you about my particular addiction.

It's cocobolo.

I ... I just can't stop ... I just can't stop taking picture of cocobolo. I need help. I don't know how to kick it. :help:

Hi Paul! Being addicted to Cocobolo photography is your burden, and we will help you carry it!

I will admit to constant fantasies of urban logging trailer designs, complete with tongue-mounted winches and varieties of swing-out davits and casket racks. I am thinking about a dual wheeled, 10 foot trailer with 5 ton capacity and... oh dear...

Hi. My name is Daniel, and I am addicted to wood.

:wacko1:

Hello, my name is Ken and it has been 5 hours since I last visited my shop. I don't know when the dust got a hold of me, but it was powerful and I liked it. I dream about it, think about it, talk about it and look forward to the next time I will be surrounded by it. It eats up all my spare time and when I'm not around it, I plan ways to sneak back to the shop for my next fix. I've made personal sacrifices to support my habit, even selling some of my personal items to continue in my addiction. Sometimes, I'll cut my wood with other substances and sell it as a superior product, just so that I can afford to purchase the next installment of my addiction. When I get out of the shower, I almost regret having to towel off because the pattern of my wet chest hair resembles wood grain. (let's see ya get that image out of your head) The more sawdust I get, the more I want and I never seem to be satisfied with just a little. I constantly need more and more. The first step in any program is to admit that you have an addiction. My name is Ken and I am a saw dust addict......and I have no intentions of changing that for anyone, at any time. :good:

After opening the box and realizing who it was from I was racking my brain trying to figure out what the hell I forgot to send him! I wouldn't feel right about this unless I asked someone else to pay it forward by sending him a box of wood in my stead. :yipee::pleasantry::cool::lol:

There is only one way Paul...send ALL of your Cocobolo to me I will repatriate it.

Wouldn't work ... I'd just go out and buy more. I can't stop myself.

After the week I had dealing with a particularly nasty customer it really is nice to know my efforts are appreciated! :dash2: I think I just need to spend more time on sites with professional folks like you guys and leave the other site for the amateurs! At least we all know what our problem is and for anyone who is thinking about getting help for your addiction just remember: Rehab is for quitters and I 'ain't no quitter! :mocking:
You are very welcome Kevin. I'm just glad I am finally in position to send you some nice stuff in return for all the nice stuff you have sent me over the years.:i_am_so_happy:
Happy New Years Everyone!!!
Rich

I never seen walnut like that. I want some.

Well I got to get going and get a chunk of walnut to JMC that he wanted but the last month.... I thought you retired and had Time????????Which one do you like? All urban trees! The one has some really crazy grain and mostly white is very unusual.

Is it not funny how each part of the country has it's own special wood. If it is easy to get you take for granted but now if it is something from somewhere else-now you are talking.:yipee:
