**ENDED** WTB GNARLY HIGHLY FIGURED WOOD

Jimmy I've still got some of the Blackheart Sweetgum, Lombardy Black Poplar and also a big chunk of Holly that may or may not be interesting, just hav'nt cut into it yet. Oh yes and a oak log with a huge wart on the side of it.

All of those choices are great. I'm really curious to see what's inside that WART. I bet it will be fantastic.

Not knowing what's in there where would be the best starting place to get the most of what may be there (with my band mill that is). Thinking maybe take enough off of the tip to possibly be a bowl blank (best case?) then dice up accordingly? Any ideas?

Every time I read this thread I go to the shop thinking "I must have something he would like..." - Never realized how much straight grained plain wood I bought in pursuit of the size I was looking for... So if you need some fine straight grained wood to make a color statement let me know !

Every time I read this thread I go to the shop thinking "I must have something he would like..." - Never realized how much straight grained plain wood I bought in pursuit of the size I was looking for... So if you need some fine straight grained wood to make a color statement let me know !

You never know.............Show me what turning goodies you might have.

You can see there might be bark pockets but it is pretty solid to me

:woodfix: :hookup: I'm looking for exotic or domestic pieces 4x4 or 5x5 in 6-8" lengths for turning some lidded boxes. I'm mostly interested in wood with a lot of "character" which means gnarly, burly, wormy, highly figured, spalted etc. Plain wood need not apply

I have two spalted sugar maple logs here but I'll be keeping one of them. They're about 5x11, you can pick which one you'd like - something you'd be interested in?

Jimmy---It looks like you have plenty of purty wood offered here. If you need it I just found some 20 yr dry oak burls from 12 to 20" dia. As cut off the tree, our burls have no pin knots just swirly, bark inclusions, black spots ect. It's ugly sure.
