In my continuing effort to clean up the shop, here is a box of 6 pieces of crotch wood that are great for box lids, drawer fronts, pen blanks, pot calls, etc. There are four pieces of walnut crotch as shown below, one very large piece of the best American chestnut crotch I've ever seen and a small rare cherry feather crotch.
Each of the photos shows the size and fronts/backs of each piece.

Price is a ridiculously low $60 plus shipping in the LFRGB of $18.00.

Not to take away from your other pieces which are excellent, but the chestnut crotch is the “bees knees” :good2:! Have not seen any crotch that much for Am. chestnut.

Like you said, I've been handling Am chestnut for 30 years and have only seen three boards of crotch figure the entire time. Most of my chestnut came from old barn beams, many of which were hand-hewn. The guys doing the hewing didn't want to fool with crotches so they were not saved in beams. However, some of the milled beams did cut the crotches and that is where the three boards I have came from. They are rare, however.
