The piece started life as a eucalyptus tree that had been growing on family property for many years. Sadly, the tree had to be removed, so we wanted to preserve a part of it and turn it into something that could be enjoyed for years to come. The result is a vase/bowl that showcases some of the beautiful grain and character that the eucalyptus timber had to offer.
We've attached a photo of the finished piece so you can see how it turned out. Eucalyptus can be an interesting wood to work with, and we were really pleased with the final result and the opportunity to give this tree a new life in a different form.
For anyone who has a little time and is interested in the process, we've also shared a YouTube video showing how the vase/bowl was made from start to finish. We'd love to hear your feedback on the project, the design, the turning process, or anything else that stands out to you. Thanks for taking a look!
