Finally got a big boy bandsaw

This was a whirlwind of a deal. Went from initial Facebook marketplace message to the saw being delivered to my basement shop in about an hour. It's a little old but still seems to be a good deal from what I've seen elsewhere.

2.5hp Laguna 14SE with mobile base and 4 blades for $900. He only charged $100 extra to deliver it to my basement, which i thought was well worth it.

Now i just need to wire up a 1p 220v outlet to power it! (He demoed it for me on video before bringing it over)

Also, the guy made it as point to note that it's Bulgarian made. Does that make it better or something? I assume Laguna doesn't make saws in Bulgaria anymore.

Yes the ones that are made in Italy and Bulgaria are supposed to be their best line, I think the current Laguna 14" is made in China...

i'm on a yard where i gotta run a generator to use mine, hence my delays
that and i can't seem to find the time.

i think you'll be happy with the one you bought, they are pretty damn good machines

Vegas doesn't get rain very often and that saw likely weighs 700lbs.

The larger saws usually sell for less than what you just paid for your smaller one due to physical size, weight, and sometimes power requirements. Those things make it more difficult (not impossible) to steal as well.

I've got that same saw, also made in 2004. Probably had it 10 years now--never a problem at all. For sure a "big boy" saw. Congratulations!!

Don't hold your breath. I'm reorganizing the shop now, so it'll be a while before i can even work on a project.
