@garyswf got me motivated to do some flat work, and I’ve had a couple pieces of ambrosia maple in the corner of my shop. This was cut from narrowest section and trimmed natural edges where thinned. Finished piece roughly 12 x 18” with tung oil. May put another coat on after doing some filling of beetle holes.

Finished piece roughly 12 x 18” with tung oil. May put another coat on after doing some filling of beetle holes.

Calling that ambrosia maple is criminal. That has just about every type of figure except for birdseye and tortoise shell quilt. Really cool board anyway.

Very nice! That wood's got lots of character, and you brought it out well.

I think yours came out much better than mine did. See, I recently had a customer ask me for a charcuterie board. Unfortunately, I misheard the request. . . .
