I finally got around to mill some lumber. I had a little maintenance to do on the mill, the ash bunks that go between the track and my channel iron frame were getting pretty tender and the dogs weren't working well due to wear. I milled lumber to replace the bunks last summer and finish installing them a couple of weeks ago, last weekend I built up the worn areas on the dogs with weld. Did a oil change Monday and milled a little yesterday and this morning. It's a mixed bag of cull cedar and pine logs that my son dropped off. He's got some 24' old growth spruce that he wants milled into timbers for a new sugar house and retail area that he's hoping to build next year. My mill will only saw 23' if I put on my extra section of track so I welded on a 18" extension for that job. I'm hoping to build a few permanent ground blinds for ambushing deer from the pine. My goal is to build 4 and sell one to cover the cost store bought materials. They should go pretty fast if I build them all alike.
