Fish pond signs

My son made a large fish pond and filtering system at his house and wanted some signs like at a museum or aquarium. Everything was cut on CNC. All letters and the pictures were done with epoxy. This was my first foray into epoxy. Quite the rabbit hole but learned a lot and had a good time.

Thank you, signs are about 19" x 14". Large letters are about 1.25" tall and the smaller letters are about 1/2" tall. I just noticed that in trying to try and clean up the pictures with some auto cleanup on my phone it messed up some of the lettering in the Filter sign. The actual sign doesn't have those errors.

Very cool signs. How did you make the epoxy inlays that have two or more colors - like the goldfish in the first photo? Did you pour one color and then after it cured route out and pour a second color?

Yes, you nailed it. I would pour one color and then after curing carve out the area for a different color. Took a lot of planning, especially on the frog/lilly pad one, there are 8 different colors on that one. In a few instances, I could pour two different colors at the same time if I felt there was enough separation between the colors that I didn't have to worry about one running into the other. You have to overfill the engraving as the epoxy will shrink some as it dries.

I saw that too. Still, they lok great. Nicely done.

Nice - the benefits of a CNC you can index to always position your blank in the same spot, precise routing with small bits, etc. Well done.
