Here is few unfinished poppers. all ready to fish already in boat or presented to frends for testing^). also few stabilized Karelian birch blocks. not sure for all of them to fully stabilized, cause wery different density blocks have. some cant have 150 gramms and take 40-70 gramms of stabilizator, some can have 100 gramms and take 110 gramms of stabilizator....

What kind of trout do you catch and do you use those poppers for them?

Thanks! Trout i catch, i thing it called 'brown trout' in english.. Small poppers (3-6 sm) work goot at warm summer days, then trout jumping then hunting.
Poppers not best and effective tackle, but fishing w them if funny and adrenaline. Usially i use small jerks or mepps rounding lures..
also sometimes im tying flies like on photo^)

Welcome from California, USA! Lots of folks interested in fishing on this site, so you'll fit right in! What are the local wood species that you use? Chuck

  • California dreaming^)..... Most popular species here is pine, spruce (fir) and birch. So they usially uses for building and woodworking. Sauna walls and bench often from aspen, cause it is long life with water contact and dont gives tar, like pine. Poppers and jerks can be maked from alder, cause i have low density and easy to work. Most exotic, precious and most popular for costly works is karelian(masur) curly birch. It is north "mutation" of simple curly birch but very rare and heavy to find. Looks like common birch, but more ugly...
