With the chip separator, hardly ever had to empty it.
Looks like a nice seperator. I bought the garbage can lid one. Worked decent but that looks like a step or 2 up.

I had a garbage can lid type for years. It was ok but the cyclone style was many times better. One big thing was there were no air leaks with the new one.
What are you changing to.
