Let’s keep going shall we! This is one that has evaded me and finally after a couple of years, this surfaced and it was meant to be. Outside of the functional artistry, the Japanese white oak on this is superb. I am including a close-up photo. It has a very thick sizable 70mm blade. This is a sizable smoothing plane and a must have on your tool chest/bench. This Japanese smoothing plane can make very thin “onion peel, ribbon shavings” as you pull it towards you. This converted into the world of hand forged Japanese steel for woodworking and guitar building- it’s whole different experience that lend itself to more of an effortless state of being. This is a fine functional tool that is also a work of art that will last you past your lifetime and passed on to the next generation.
