Connected through Facebook marketplace to a guy who was selling roughed out turning blanks. Visited him yesterday, Wow! This guy was a professional turner who had decided to retire from it. He had the most amazing turning set-up I have ever seen, on line, in a magazine, anywhere. His blanks were huge so I picked out some smaller ones I could handle, up to 16" for about 5$ each. Mostly olive, carob, and Brazilian Pepper wood. A pic of my haul, and his custom built lathe with a 26" HF mounted. He also had a Powermatic, and Vicmark lathe and a fortune in accessories that he is selling. His specialty was forms with turquoise fill, sold them in high end galleries in Santa Fe NM.
