I know this is a wood site but we have alot of talented people here who work with other mediums than wood. Wood is my favorite but sometimes I also like doing work with metal, such as the coin rings I make sometimes, or even stone sometimes and all sorts of stuff. I dont know if this is a suggestion that has been made before but I think it might be an interesting place if there was somewhere official to post non wood projects and things of that nature. If this doesnt sound like a good idea no problem, just a suggestion.

No I think it's a good suggestion. I've toyed with the idea too. Let's let others give some feedback - it's probably something we should do. If we do it I'll give you credit for it and make sure you get a bag of mixed hardwood planer shavings . . . . . :treehugger:

Cool! Sometimes I just get bored because I dont have alot of tools right now so the only things I can make are smaller pieces and I only have so many ideas for small wood items, most of them revolving around jewelry so sometimes I venture into other mediums. I made some Jasper earrings for Lynne awhile back and I thought they turned out really pretty. The Jasper came from just a slab and I chipped them down to shape and then ground and polished them to a high shine, drilled them and then did the wire wrapping from sterling silver. I forgot to take a picture after the wrapping was done though. I made these a couple of months ago.

hmmm I dont know what we would call it but I think a good spot might be under the specialty woodworkers and artisans.

OK - Sleep on it and post some ideas tomorrow. Anyone is welcome to weigh in on this. And BTW - Brink, I would love to see some metal sculptures :yipee::yipee::yipee:

Lot of good steel in there! Hijack one, dissect it and put on your Michelangelo cap...:drinks:

I like this idea as well, :good2: I have often said that wood workers also use other mediums and do other work as well. We could call it projects other than wood?
No matter what we call it, it is probably over due.

I'm already ready already when he's ready to get ready.
