I have 2 Bosch Palm Routers. A couple weeks or more, one of the collets broke in 3 pieces, so that router was gonna be dead until I got another collet. Yesterday, I set up the good router for a special operation I need to do at my customers house in a couple days, so set it up to the jig I need when I get there. I wrapped the jig with the cord to router to keep them together.
After cutting the deviders for for cookie sheets, I needed to flush trim them to the pattern I made. That wasn't going to happen as the 2nd router didn't have a collet, and my other 3 routers are still set up for operations I might not be totally done with just yet. I called a couple places to see if they had a collet, but no such luck. Then it hit me.
I only live about 4 miles from a Harbor Frieght, so I figured I go there and see what they had for trim routers. I didn't want to pay a lot and settled on a Drill Master for a total of $32 and change. When I got back to the house, I was about to set it up when I notice the collet looked like the Bosch collet. Pulled it out and used the nut and collet on my Bosch which fit purrfeckly. The Harbor Frieght router is still sitting in it's box and will probably never get used.
The cost is immaterial as the Bosch's are better tools, and getting one would be about a week away and I didn't have the time to wait. .......... Nubs
