Hello from Az.

Hello all. I am owner of piece of land at Sonora desert Mexico, and I like work with dead ironwood. I had worked legally with this dead ironwood form the las five years with logs and blank, and I would like learn more about this tresure of the desert. Thanks.
Welcome! I have bought a few pieces from that area....I haven't turned any yet...and not looking forward to it!

HI the land is at Sonora near Puerto Libertad, Mexico.
Francisco, in your PM you said it was near Pitiquito. I've been through there at least 20 times back in the 80's heading out to the playas at Los Tanques near El Desemboque and Bahia San Gorge. Loved it there. Been to Puerto Lobos a couple times. Fishing was excellent. The drive getting there in the early 80's was the highlight of the trips. Thanks, Francisco. When you come back up from Mexico, I know you have to pretty much go through Tucson, so please stop by. If you want my phone, PM me......
Folks, the drive from the boarder for me started in Sassabee, Arizona/Mexico, to Altar, Mexico. The road was dirt back then, 60 miles of it. Then pavement from there until you take one of several turnoffs toward the Sea of Cortez. From Caborca, it's about 60 more miles of desolate dirt roads to P. Lobos, 70 miles to P. Libertad. On that 60 miles of dirt road from Lobos, if I had a mind to collect pre-cut wood that had fallen off the trucks hauling it, I'm sure I could have collected over a cord of Desert Ironwood. El Desemboque is pavement until it ends on the beach, then you continue north or south, whichever you choose. I've driven from Desemboque to Lobos by beach. You just have to time it properly, or you'll lose your transportation. Seeing a rusted hulk of a vehicle tends to make you more aware of the surroundings. ........... Jerry (in Tucson)
