I am happy to have stumbled upon this site. It looks like many of you have some otherwise unobtainable species here in the Midwest.

I am a commercial carpenter and have in the last year focused much of my spare time on woodworking. I am excited to use this site as one of my few current resources for mixed species.

Thanks for all of your submissions!

Nathan, Welcome from South Texas! You are right, this is an incredible resource for wood, knowledge and friendship. What do you build when not doing houses? Tony

My current project is a large gourd/feather/peyote box for a local Native American fellow. It will be fully decorated with traditional designs as will as some wood burning. I added a pic of the red cedar i found for the lid. The rest of the box will be box store cedar due to the weight.

What about you?

Very cool, I like the splined boxes in your profile pic!
I do a little bit of everything. I make cutting boards, turn a lot of small things, just a variety of stuff. Tony
