Honey locust burl and myrtle burl

Hi @Mike1950 Nice looking burl! Do you happen to have any locust burl suitable to turn a small bowl or dish about 6” to 8” diameter?

Maybe but I am cleaning and building a cabinet. In other words if it is in my way I will sell here or elsewhere. But probably not digging for anything for 10 days.

Hi @Mike1950 I’m good with that. No need to go digging. I’d be happy if you kept me in mind if you come across some. Enjoy your cabinet project! Sounds like fun!

My latest project is that I’m turning a bowl from a piece of old growth redwood. Its really soft wood and really dry. My second time turning redwood. The first time I tried, the piece would warp as I turned off the material - I ended up having to scrap it. Amazing how much it would warp. I guess it had so much tension built up in it from the way it dried. This one is coming out good though.
