Hopea stone burl hollow form.

Almost lost this when the piece blew in half due to a bark inclusion that crossed the entire piece. Put it back together and it blew apart again but this was after hollowing, so I was able to smooth the inside of the two pieces easily before epoxy and pewa—walnut pewa and black epoxy. 5 1/4 inch diameter. I’ll include pictures of the two pieces also, so you can see the issue . . .

I was confused about what "pewa" means. So, went online, and found it's meaning is it's the Hawaiian definition for the "Tail of a fish". Why do you not use the term that has been used for decades for the butterflies you put into this piece? .......... Nubs

Nice save Alan. More guts than I have for a bark inclusion of that caliber. All good because the turning (and you ) survived and provided another opportunity as you continue on with your hollow form journey.
