Last day of the 90s here today and then a gradual cool down with lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s. That will be much nicer. Can even get some work done outside in the morning.

I have two nieces who are in Philadelphia right now, who were supposed to be marching in the big Wawa Welcome America Salute to Independence Semiquincentennial Parade today. The parade includes at least one marching band from each state in the US and they're in one of the bands representing Wisconsin. Unfortunately the parade was canceled due to the heat. Understandably so. Really bummed for them as they've been really looking forward to this and preparing for it, but glad that the decision was made for the safety of them, and all who would be participating in or watching the parade. There are a few other parades in the area they are marching in tomorrow, so we'll see how many of them they end up getting to march in or how many might end up getting canceled as well on account of the heat.

Hope they get to march - they put in a tremendous amount of practice and work to obtain the necessary funds, etc. Both my kids were fortunate enough to march in the New Year's Rose Parade in Pasadena so I have a pretty good idea what they're going through.

Can someone please send us some water? Frozen, liquid, mist, fog, steam, doesn't matter, we'll take whatever you have.
Don’t mean to rub it in Doug, cause I know how desperate parts of the west are for some rain. Jeez. Crazy weather here too.

Rain, rain, rain and friggin’ heat and humidity, like a big part of the Midwest, and heading east. We had the same thunderstorms last night come through our area, like Tim posted pics of, and we’re a lot further north in the state.

I think Illinois might have set a new record for tornadoes already this year?? We’ve had a few in our general vicinity, but nothing too terrible nearby.

Temps are supposed to moderate back to “the averages” hopefully next week.

Saw those big fires in Utah and Colorado area too. Devastating those firefighters lost their lives. Tough situation with Mother Nature kicking butt all across the country, or so it seems.

Overall- I’ve not much to complain about, compared to other areas of the country.

We had a bit of water last evening. Some of it was in little hard chunks. Thankfully I don't believe we got any severe storms damage. We had about an hour sitting in the dark waiting for the utility company to reset the transformer. There were enough outages that the local vfd was called out to check lines before they re energized the system.

Storms yesterday, powers out until at least 11:30 tonight. I've got a battery backup generator running the fridge so we dont loose our food. Sucks having no ac as it will be hot and humid here again today. Did old school percolator coffee on the stove this morning, lol. We are camping in the house. Battery lanterns etc.

Electric company just sent an update, power wont be back on until the 5th at 11:30 PM, I guess I better dig the generator out.

Clear as a bell today, and gonna be a little cooler than yesterday. Even the weather recognizes the significance of July 4 as it is giving us a break today only. Yesterday was 102, today will supposedly be 99 with high humidity at 15%, and tomorrow will supposedly be back up to 102. No rain til July 11. ............ Nubs

Generator is up and running, whole house is energized. 2 ac's and the fridge running. Generator is 10,500 watt surge, 7,000 watt running.
