Today, just after 6 pm, I checked my weather forecast. Again, No Rain in the Next 10 Days was what I saw. Luckily, I covered my equipment about 5:30 because at 6:30, it was raining. The only reason I looked outside was because I heard thunder. At least I wasn't caught with my pants down this time.
It's almost 7 pm and the temp has dropped from 101 to 88 degrees with 48% humidity. It's gonna be another miserable day tomorrow if that humidity sticks around. ............... Nubs

We are in a true monsoon weather pattern. No complaints as we have chance of thundershowers every day for next week. We just have not had a wide coverage rain up here in the foothills. We get these pop up storms. Friends 6 miles down the road have had 2-3 inches, we have had maybe a half inch. They are that scattered and can get very intense quickly. They just keep moving. No complaints as we, just nice to see things green up and at least our temps cool down.
I just looked at our weather today and right now the humidity is 66% with temp at 88 going to 102 at 2pm. It's gonna be sticky, but not that hot. ................ Nubs
We drove through a strong storm coming home from the Springs in Ute Pass. Torrential rain and then the hail started. Lost a windshield and pretty sure I have damson the Cherokee. Towards top of the pass there was about 3-4 inches of hail on the road. Got home and we only had a light shower.
Last night about 4am, I woke up because nature was calling. I must have been in a deep sleep as as soon as I opened my eyes, there was lightning, thunder and raindrops. Did my thing, and went back to bed. For the next 30 minutes or more, I lay awake hearing the thunder and rain, and seeing the lightning. Woke up again at 6+am, and saw clear sky's all around me except to the far west. Later about 9 am, I decided it was time to get off my butte and start cutting that Cholla I collected yesterday. I did notice that the clouds had moved in and covered pretty all of the west and some of the north of me. I also felt a few raindrops and decided I wasn't going to do anything with the Cholla until the weather cleared.
Right now as I writer this, it's dripping outside. I don't know if we'll get full blown wind or just get our desert dampened.

Keep sending it to us @Nubsnstubs We have had great rains this month. The ground is really parched due to lack of snowpack, but it has greened up incredibly well given the way the year started.
Everybody say a prayer, tilt your head the right way, or carry a special coin or whatever you do for luck. The weather people say we have a 70% chance of rain later this week. I might have to go out and run around naked in it if it rains it's been so long since we've had any moisture.
Not a good idea. Been so long since you have done that, you risk getting hurt. Just start off with a gentle walk and proceed.
Since I took those pictures this morning about 9AM, it rained up until a little after 1 Pm. We got about 7/8" of rain then, and over a 1/4" last night. It never got above 80 degrees today. ............... Nubs
Got my fingers crossed and will think positive vibes you get some RAIN this week.

It looks like some of that monsoon rain got into the Grand Canyon.
Going to be an interesting day. 100* yesterday. Woke up to cloudy skies and a Tropical Storm visiting in a little while. Edouard may come right over the house but is projected to cross 50ish miles east of me. I could use the rain. Here's hoping I get some

That Edouard storm popped up rather quickly. I check the NOAA Hurricane tracker site pretty often and the Caribbean area was devoid of storms yesterday morning.

It's ready on standby.. They just replaced the engine in it due to two push rods punching through the rocker arms
It developed in the gulf close to Florida rather pretty quickly

I know things have changed with reporting and better guys going to different networks and such, but back in the day I always thought if The Weather Channel’s Jim Cantorie showed up on your front lawn you were in big trouble and should have left 2 days earlier.
