@Nature Man asked to see pictures of this project, I'm probably not much of a teacher. This is my first attempt so I'm learning, you can find a couple of excellent YouTube videos online. The most important part is to start with equal thickness strips of contrasting color wood. I used maple and cherry. Also put some time into jointing everything to keep things as straight as possible.

View attachment 284332View attachment 284333After this step I found it necessary to make a few light passes through the planer to true the surface. I was worried that it might affect the pattern but it didn't. After that I cut it up into 1.75" strips laid out the pattern and glued them all back together. That's it for today.
