Cylindopuntia Fulgida, also called Jumping Cholla and sometimes Chain Fruit Cholla; Has younger stems that break off easily and when you inadvertently step on one not knowing you did, two or three steps later it sticks you. That's the reason for it being called Jumping Cactus. Class ended.
One time I was collecting some and got too close to a live one and backed into it. Getting into my truck later alerted me to why it has Jumping in it's name. the ........ Nubs
