If you look at my profile page you'll see the brief explanation, and it pretty well covers it.
I started Wood Barter out of a desire to increase my own personal wood collection from around the world. Little did I know I'd meet so many other wood addicts and create competition for myself!
But better than increasing my wood collection, the new friends I have made have turned out to be the real treasures.
Tom, I had initially said that the first 10 members to join would be founders. Then, I saw it needed to be bigger because I saw from the group of that 10 most weren't going to remain active. So I bumped it to 25 and then 50 that same day. After we were approaching 100 members, I decided 100 was going to be the magic number because there was so many members over the 50 mark that I wanted as founders. Most of the founders came from wood working talk where I had been a moderator for 5 years or so. I had asked fr opinions there in this thread when I was still a moderator. Once I launched WB I resigned my WWT mod duties so I could focus all my energy here.
