Just finished working on these "li'l booties" for a 1903 Colt hammerless auto, for a collector in Dallas. I didn't make the grips, he commissioned me to hand cut the checkering for him. His requested dimensions for the larger single diamonds created a 2½ to 1 ratio which affected the size of all the diamonds in the pattern. First time I've ever checkered anything using that ratio. They proved to be somewhat of a challenge in that there are multiple radii in the bottom heel, which slowed the progress down quite a bit but, got it done.
