I am really looking out to find some Camatillo Rosewood big enough for use on acoustic guitars. Rosewood itself is getting rarer, and this one is hard to come by. I would hope to find pieces big enough to make into backs or sides (8" x 21" for backs, and 5" x 33" for sides, roughly). I know it's a long shot, but figured I'd check to see if any is out there.

I have some Brazilian kingwood
But I don't thing it's that wide, I'll ck tomorrow, I know it's 5 foot long

Have a small chunk but no guitar wood. Have honduran rosewood in guitar size and coco

I’m not a luthier so I don’t know how it impacts build or bracing, but if I recall correctly Martin started building the D-35’s with 3-piece backs so they could use some of their Brazilian Rosewood early in the CITES days.
Could that be a possible consideration Colby?

This company is the only place I know of that sells it in boards.

Thanks for sharing that. It looks like a lot of their boards have some defects. I will look at them close to see if I could use any for some parts of a guitar. Nothing wide enough for a traditional back though.

As you mentioned Greenacres2, it is possible I could make a 3-piece back. I've never done that, but I know it's possible. I honestly hadn't thought much about it, but I'm not opposed :) thanks for the suggestion.

Mine is only 10" sorry
Hey John,

Do you mean 10" wide? You mentioned that it's 5' long. If it's truly 10" wide that really could work. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding :)
