Hey all,

I'm planning to make more pens when I next get back home to the USA, and I want to branch into some nicer fountain and rollerball pens. I give them away as gifts to colleagues, so I want to get my hands on some nice true rosewood burl pen blanks.

Just got some Honduran rosewood burl, so now I’m looking for some other species. African Blackwood Burl is top of the list, as well as cocobolo. But I’d also love some Indian, Bois de Rose (although thats probably close to impossible to find), and any other rosewoods.

If anyone has some nice burls pen blanks they want to get rid of (or even some very highly figured stuff, I'm open to that as well), Id love to get my hands on a few.

Best,

Nate

Can pay via PayPal.

I have some Brazilian, but it’s straight grained. Might part with a little Honduran Rosewood Burl, will try to get some pics this afternoon. No idea how to price it—IF I can overcome the hoarding instinct. (World Mental Health Day is a good time to confess that!)

Dang it Earl its not hoarding, its collecting. At least that's what I tell everyone. And you holding HRB out on me? Next time I post something that you want, I'm gonna force you into a trade! 🤣🤣🤣

I prefer @Jonkou blank! Junior Gent and most of the rest of that series work at about 4 1/2” long. I’ll show some pics, the smaller are mostly 3/4 sq, 4+ to 5 long. Bigger pieces are 3/4 thick, light cracks in the sapwood, but could get some sap-heart transition with careful trimming. Better than the pics. I’d score each as one pen, with a few at only 4” so single tube. Would not part with more than half. I still prefer John’s!,

Hi Jonkou, I’d love to take that. Do you take any forms of electronic payment, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo etc? Currently living in England so getting cash or a US check dropped in the mail might take a bit longer for me to arrange. It should be doable, I’ll need to have a chat with my sister back at my US home address when she wakes up.

Don’t do any type of electronic payment and ship flat rate in the US only. Let me know after you talk with Sis.

Sorry Jonkou, gonna have to pass. Sister doesn't use check so doesn't have any, and isn't comfortable mailing cash. Beautiful piece of wood though!
