@Big Ry that would be great for the sycamore thanks.
Yes please for the swamp mahogany. I follow okcrabtree but hadn't spotted that.
I got makore from the seller Dan linked so I don't need that but thanks.

If you just need a bit of cocus I can find you something half decent. I'm off work next week so I might get organized!

it seemed to be a one off piece for okcrabtree. I've never seen him sell swamp Mahogany before. Also he had it listed as "Hawaiian robusta" and not swamp mahogany, but the listing description stated that it was eucalyptus robusta and it very much appears to be so. Swamp mahogany is kinda rare but isn't impossible to find here either, so i actually ordered another board of it last night. I can cut you a full 1x1x12 blank of all heartwood when that board arrives.

Noted about the makore.

I did end up ordering the cocuswood knife scales, but I'd definitely take a bigger piece if you're able to get your hands on some. There are a couple bigger pieces floating around here in the States, but the prices for them are astronomical (like 10x what i paid for the scales despite not being that much bigger than knife scales).

@Big Ry a few small pieces of cocus in case you're interested. I can give you exact measurements if any look good enough. Same five pieces just rotated

Looks good to me!
The cocus is yours!

The order from Octopus came in but it looks like two of the pieces got mixed up. I got a smaller cornelian cherry and a larger Turkish juniper, rather than vice versa. Is cornelian cherry at 12*2*2" any good for you?

@Friedrich9 I was going to suggest vaguely by weight for the trade, but that would get me 60-70 spindles at 1*1*12"....I don't expect you to find and cut that many! Would about half that be fair?

Wrong size and a bark inclusion. Ugh that might have been the one i was most excited about given the extremely high janka hardness. I mean if they sent the wrong sizes, they should rectify it for free, no? That's generally how it works over here. I'm not exactly ready to ship it your packet yet anyway, so we got time. Think you could try to get them to send the size you ordered?

Yeah just wanted to check with you first in case it was actually ok. I'll ask them to put it right. The pistachio looks great

I can get cornus mas (cornelian cherry) it grows round here. It will take some finagling but I could get a larger piece. I also have a somewhat dry halflog lying around. I’m not sure how big it is though.

Dave and I are working out a trade, so the shipping costs are offset by the fact that we are dealing multiple pieces. Not that i wouldn't love to get my hands on a bigger piece of it, it just would probably be cost prohibitive unless you and i did a similar trade.

I believe Dave and I were working on something until I got into some stress from work and left off a bit (It should clear up soon somewhere in june)

If this works out I could send the stuff to dave and he could send it your way. This would be for free. It doesn't really affect shipping much and I'm unlikely to use it now that it has dried. Any size you are looking for? Keep in mind that it doesn't grow very large and doesn't grow straight.
