Disclaimer. This is a gauging interest post. I have talked to ripjack13 and he ok’ed this post.
I have been cleaning up rough cut Western Maple boards and during this process I end up with lot of small pieces that might be useful to pen makers.
the thickness of them are a minimum of 7/8” thick. Length and widths vary.
Moisture content is about 10 percent.
I am giving these away free to anyone who wants them. You pay only shipping.
please let me know if you are interested and I will start another thread to get things going.
pictures show what the wood looks like. IMG_3014.jpeg IMG_3014.jpeg IMG_3013.jpeg IMG_3009.jpeg IMG_3010.jpeg IMG_3009.jpeg

Most of that spalting will really show up if they are stabilized. Some of our pen turners certainly have a stabilizing setup.

Howdy @GECKO That's some good looking stuff! My $0.02 :
I would say there is definitely interest! And, I anticipate that you could charge more for these pieces than just shipping and still sell the whole lot. If some of them could be used without stabilizing, I'm sure the demand (interest) would be even greater.
Thanks for posting!

A couple of things. First is I was welcomed to this site and allowed to show my works even though this is a wood barter site. Second is that I love sharing wood and giving back woods that I will never use. You never know what kind of woods I might run into that I can’t use. I am a person who watches market place for free wood and I have picked up some that I may not use but others might like. I am not here to make money. I am here for the love of wood working and the chance to learn.

Like so many of us. You are the kind of person we love to have around. I am happy you found this site. Not only, have you posted your beautiful boxes but you also give away free stuff. What a nice guy.
