Here is a crotch figure 5 " dia X 4" thick maple bowl blank for $12 plus shipping .The bark is still on , so could be turned as a natural edge. I have larger pieces of this hardwood , crotch figure , My bandsaw is not large enough to cut pieces round so would have to cut them with my chainsaw .

Joe, I'm not interested in this piece, but here is a tip for whoever does purchase it. Natural edge is good, but what about a natural opening? I've made several with Mesquite using the broken branch part for my opening. Use a spur in the opening, turn a tenon, turn the shape wanted, turn it around and start the hollowing process through the natural growth area where it looks like a branch used to be.

Here are is two pictures of what I did several years ago.The top piece is Palo Verde and the second is Mesquite. IMG_6468.jpeg

This shows the profile of the form. IMG_6469.jpeg

Are you asking Terry or Jerry a question? If you are asking Jerry, I'll answer. I don't want to wait on Terry. He might take awhile.

It depends on what that center looks like in the bottom piece in the picture. It looks like you could center a spur in that hole, turn a tenon on the other end, turn to whatever shape you like leaving as much bark on the top as you can. Then turn it around and hollow it out. I call these pieces Natural Top to differentiate from natural edge.
Below are a few pieces I found in my fire hazard yard that I look for to turn into Natural Top Forms.

This is Eucalyptus with about a 1 1/2" rotted out branch.
IMG_6490.jpeg
Another Eucalyptus with a broken branch healing job. It has raised compared to the first that was depressed.
IMG_6489.jpeg

Another Eucalyptus again raised. IMG_6488.jpeg

Mesquite, raised a little. I usually grind the protruding branch until I get a flat surface for the spur. This is just about the only time I'll ever use a spur. IMG_6486.jpeg

This will be a good one as the wood has a lot of character. Mesquite

Another Mesquite. I usually break the branch , make a surface for the spur, and do my thing.

I'm not trying to hijack your thread. Just posted those for you to see if you have any and maybe inspire someone to see if they have something like that and make a Natural Top form. ................. Nubs

I'm not interested in this particular blank, but I would be interested the larger one you mentioned if it's dry. I'm OK with it being cut with a chain saw if you could cut the corners off to fit a box. My Lather can handle up to 16"diameter. Do you have any wood that would fit?

There is a picture that I posted on this thread that shows two of the pieces . I have 4 and the largest would be about 8 -9 inches diam for a bowl . They all have a crotch and have been air drying for about a month . Have you ever turned Norfolk Island Pine ? I have 3 pieces that are dry but spalted . You would have a very unique and special finished turning . They sell on Ebay for up to $800 . I used to sell the bowl blanks for $50 to artists in Arizona and California and they would sell the finished bowls and platters in art galleries for up to $1000

Do you have access to any Desert Ironwood ? I know you need a permit and can only cut the dead trees . I could use some pen blank sized pieces.

I've got a few thousand pounds of Desert Ironwood laying around bud, but my woodyard is a muddy mess with all the rain we've got in the last few days, so it will be a few days before I'm able to cut anything up, send me a PM about what you need and when I get some cut I'll post some pics and price for you.

I have not turned Norfolk Island Pine. I might be interested if you have pix, measurements and price. I do have a bit of DIW but have plans for it.

Would lIke to see them. Wife had a massive 50 yo pine cut down from our front yard a few years ago (not what I wanted to do for a lot of reasons). I asked her to get the tree taker downer to save me some pieces with lots of radiating branches. Somehow, she forgot to tell them, and it was all gone by the time I got home. I didn't want to talk to her for a long time, but she's too purdy!
