Per Kevin's request, here is a screen shot of the UCP on an Ipod/Phone using the safari (all up to date).

First thing I noticed is you can see it using a PC with Firefox (only browser i use) by going to the UCP and under "edit options" you can change the default view to "mobile".
Also, you cannot upload pics or change your signature.

anything else Ill be happy to help with. Its a rainy day here and I dont do windows in the rain :mocking:

you can also change back to the default website (non mobile) view on safari. so it is a choice you can make. Ill try to post a pic that way as well.

Replying from an iPod using the default version of the site you cannot upload a pic.

SS, thanks for doing this for me. This is very helpful in working out bugs before we start getting more members - seems a lot of people are using mobile devices to connect to the web now. I know my kids have been for several years now.

I'll look into why you can't upload in the default theme. When you say default, you mean this one correct?

kinda,
I see three choices under the options section.
"Default", "Wood Theme" and "GoMobile1.0 Beta4"
Default and Wood Theme are the same except the look.
The GoMobile is different altogether.
I'm trying to upload the screen shots but I get an error. it wont let me upload a file larger than 100kb

Here ya go
shrunk them down.
The one that's blue and says "woodBarter" at the top is the "GoMobile" selection.
The other that's blue and has the "BB" at the top is the "default".
The brown one of course is the "Wood Theme"

i need help with my android app

man i want to pull my hair out on this one!!! i down loaded the android forum runner app so i can particpate here on the go. i am able to post new threads and reply to existing ones however i cant post photos i get an error message that says "the file upload failed. please choose a valid file and try again" i am trying to load a jpg file taken with my phone. i went to the forum runner support forum and guys were saying that the app converts the jpg file and i should enable the forum to allow "png" i have no clue what that is or where to find it any help would be awesome.... for now i got to put this thing down before i throw it out the window:dash2: i will be back at it int he morn good nite all

I'll PM SlickSqueegie & Daren and ask them to try to help. It's all good at this end but I don't use a phone - both Slick & Daren do and Slick I believe is especially knowledgeable with this topic. Daren too I think.

From what he said I'm guessing that you have the forum set to only accept .jpg files as images. There should be something in the setup to allow .png files as well.

My guess, from my time with open source, is that they resize the images when they upload them and there are some patent encumbrances on the .jpg format so they chose to use an open format (.png) to avoid the issue.

This is all speculation on my part, but I'd be that I'm close to correct - unless, of course, you already allow .png images in which case I don't know what the problem is :)

I'm no help. :fool3: My phone just uses a regular web browser, no apps. I navigate/post to the forum from my phone just like I am right now from my laptop.

Wienert i think you are correct i was looking for help last night on the forum runner support site and that is the jist of what the ppl there were saying. I looked last nite but didnt see that option as an option for me on the forum here..... then again it was getting late and i was quite red in the face from frustration so maybe i over looked it.

I think you need to re-install that app.. The exact same thing happened to me way early on. But it was "Intermittent"

How often do you re-boot the Droid?

Try that first (if you haven't already) if it still does it delete and re-install the app.
Please let me know if it didn't fix it...

I have a buddy coming over later this evening. He has a Droid. Ill try his out and see what happens with his...

That was posted from my phone, but clearly either I'm having an issue posting images or an issue understanding *how* to post images from the phone as there was supposed to be at least one image attached.

Ok i didn't get the error message that time but the pic didnt show up... hopefully this means a little progress. I will reboot my phone and try again

Treecycle, try starting a new thread and of course include a pic.
then reply to your own thread with another pic .

Its working for me that way, but I cannot reply to this thread and have a pic show up either...
