Round 5 of beach finds! This is the top of a Coffinwood (Taiwania) log. I split it because it was too heavy to ship as one piece. Absolutely gorgeous, but it has LOADS of flaws. Lots of deep checking going on, windshake and a massive knot in the middle. Please be fully aware of this before considering. I poured some CA glue in all the checks, but realistically, this piece should be cast or stabilized. I tried to remove as much tear out as possible and this is what I got in the end. Lovely but flawed. Wood is sealed with polyurethane in pics. Asking 30$ plus shipping. 25cmx20x8-13.

Yes it looks beautiful and I am very happy to get a piece of the lovely and beautiful wood from Taiwan that you have been sharing with us all. I plan to make a nice bowl from it. But it is so nice I’ll probably just admire it for a while. Thanks again!

That’s gorgeous!
So, @Byron Barker if you split it, do you have the other piece available?
And, out of curiosity, what does shipping typically run to the US from Taiwan?
Thanks!

Maybe….you’ll have to wait and find out! Shipping is normally around 20-50$ depending on the weight of the piece and where it is going.
