I got myself a sweet pair of hook knife blades from Reid Schwartz. Then I had to put a handle on them.

Well, I saw a small alaterno (Rhamnus alaternus) log in the corner from @chatometry. I proceeded to make the handles. Axed out the main shape, planed it to shape with a smoother, fixed the problem areas with a sloyd knife for that sweet blade finish and proceeded right to finishing. I finished it before I epoxied the blades in so I could easily wipe away excess epoxy. I did this about three months ago. Then I made a pair of leather sheaths. I'm not so good at leatherwork.

And a small apple spoon which was designed by the recipient. My smaller sloyd knife is also visible (from Aleksander Majcen who is also known as Ravnoposeven) These pics were made in worse lighting and about a week ago. The extra sheen of the wax has worn off. The leather has also gotten a nice patina.

Those look so nice! I'm not familiar with carving. What are hook knives used for? Chuck
