I’ve been getting into pipe making recently and made this one a couple days ago. Its made out of a cherry burl that I found in the woods. It has a black walnut spacer that the stem fits into. The stem is made out of cows horn that I bent.
I have to say bending the stem was stressful. To bend horn you have to heat it quite a bit. The way I did it is submerging it in hot out for about 30-40 seconds then clamping it in a form until it cools.
The final product turned out very well and I’m very happy with it. I would also like to say that the only machines I used in the making of this pipe is a drill press and hand drill for the making of the main chamber and the other holes. Everything else was done completely by hand and with hand tools.
