New hand plane helper from Veritas

That's a cool idea alright but i have mixed feelings about it. I like making shavings. I nlike picking them up too. I like the way they feel in between my fingers when I gather them up.

I don't get to make enough of them - I think I'll stick with piles of shavings at my feet.

Kevin, I agree- I love the different shaving from the different plane- The great curl off of a sharp block plane- the bunched up curl from my tiny Veritas 3/8 dado plane, or the fine tune curls from shoulder and the chunks from a scrub. Seems to me that is part of it-the feel of wood you can see thru. Besides that it almost makes it electric being restricted by that damn hose. Also if you get enough of the shavings on the floor it becomes a cushion!!! Also nothing works better than those shavings for starting fire in stove. :yipee::yipee:
 
got to agree with everyone else, good idea, but I would not work with hand tools for speed... they are QUIET and relaxing... I think that could be problematic with a dust collector running :i_dunno:
