Hello back to you!Hello Donnie.
Hello back to you!Hello Donnie.
Thanks for the hospitality! Everyone here has been very nice and supportive!WELCOME! From Michigan.![]()
I have been studying the history of Black Locust and why it was so severely harvested and not replanted. I don’t know if it’s true, what I read but it seems like a good plausible explanation. And the wood is an amazing wood in my opinion! As is honey locust! Thanks for the warm welcome!Welcome from Crossville TN. I have a small (very small) sawmill. I have sawn most of the woods you are in love with in the last 4 years. I have a short stack of black locust slabbed in my yard right now. I mean my yard not a sawmill yard...
It was mainly harvested for fence posts as Osage orange became rarer. It works similarly. Extreme rot resistance and good hardness with silica. All of that makes it an extremely durable outdoor wood.I have been studying the history of Black Locust and why it was so severely harvested and not replanted.
