I read somewhere that the Puritans outlawed playing with toys on Sunday, but made an exception for Noah's Ark toys, because that could be called religious instruction instead of idle play. Whatever their origin, Noah's Ark toys are a very old tradition, and this puzzle -- which I designed myself and continue to tweak -- is my humble contribution to the tradition. I made it out of real gopherwood! You see, before I could make it, I had to go pher wood. . .

What do you think? (About the puzzle, not the dad joke.)

A cool puzzle. A stark contrast to the extremely uncool dad joke.

Still a good puzzle and uncool jokes bring a smile to my face too.

Exceptionally creative! Clever how you laid out the animals! This should be popular! Chuck

Pretty cool - they ought to sell well! We have bought, owned and sold a number of the old antique Noah's Arks with 100+ animals. Those Arks were often in the 24" long range and quite expensive. To sell to people who could not afford one, I made some smaller scale ones - usually about 12" long or less and with maybe a dozen animals. The Arks were fun to make and paint - used hand made stencils for doors and windows. The animals I cheated on. In lieu of the traditional Reifendrehen technique, I would go to World Market, Pier1 and such places and buy already crudely carved imported animals for cheap. Then I would take a dremel and refine them. Usually took me a few days, but they sold well.
