I would like to make some wooden mallets with either osage orange or cedar elm. If I could get a block about 4" thick, 8" wide, and 13 inches long, that would be great.

I know I have osage at the farm but can't get to it because of the snow and work. Someone here should have what you need.

Thanks Eric. I am in no big hurry if you get a chance to go have a look.

I could also take two that are 4 inches thick, 4 inches wide, and 13 inches long.

Can't get the 4x4 out of what I have. Too many cracks. Will have to look for some bigger stuff at the farm. Got one but had a hole in one end after I got it cut that went in about 3"

Thanks for giving it a try. No huge hurry. If you can find some at the farm that would be good.

I've got a bunch of osage. If you're still looking for some.

I sure am. Hoping to make some mallets. They don’t need to be a full 4 inches wide. Little less would be okay, say 3.75 or 3.5. I would like them to be a good 4 inches high, although it is not a deal breaker if they are not, and 7 inches long. I could take two pieces that are 15 inches as well. I would like to make 4 mallets.

Thanks so much for contacting me.

Joe

Hey Joe, I will get some pieces cut up for you and post a picture see if it's what you want , they'll be a bit rough because I don't have a bandsaw, it'll be cut with a chainsaw.

Yes, that looks like something I could use. Mark it sold.

Do you have a couple of those?

I can make several for you if you like. I have quite a bit of osage in various sizes and lengths. Heres a 4x7 piece I just cut. I was able to run it through the table saw and get it to come out ok. Message me your address and I'll figure out what shipping costs will be.

I sent it. I would like to make at least four mallets. Each mallet will use the better part of a 4x4x7 chunk of wood. I can cut longer pieces to length.

Ok sorry for the long wait, had a bunch of stuff come up I needed to take care of. Here are some of the short ones. I want to make sure they will be ok. I ended up having a lot of cracking in the other pieces I cut up these are the best ones out of the batch #4 is 4"x7" long the others are 3¾"x7". Let me know which ones you want and I'll get them ready to ship.

I can find a way to use all of these. Number 4 looks to be a good choice for a mallet head. Let me know what I owe with shipping and all. I will get some money coming your way.

Total for the wood is $32. Shipping is $67 through usps. I checked ups and they were the same price. I PM'd you with the info as well.

Hi, i saw this, and I figured I'd ask if there are any more of the same wood available in the same size. I personally think the 2nd looks best, but if you have more, i'd love to get some for a couple mallet heads too.

Edit: so I dont know how to delete a reply, so if someone were to be kind enough to want to reply, please do so here:
