Did you look at box 14? It has the Constantine veneers. I did not count, but this was sold as a 50 count. These would be great references for teaching some of those kids you mentor. There is some Lignum and several other smalls good for jewelry. Otherwise Matt is your wing-man.

Oh, I'm still game. Maybe announce that this is the last call and give 24 hours to respond? I've already received some real treasures and don't want to block someone else who would appreciate this box, but on the other hand it's been nine days. So. . . one more day?

Well, it's been two weeks now without anyone else asking for it. So I guess I'll stake my claim.

My first check should be getting to you soon (didn't think to add a tracking number, which may have been foolish of me -- but if you don't get it in the next couple of days, let me know).

Sounds good Ben, I'll box it up and ship soon. Was at Paul's yesterday and came home with another 4 or 5 boxes of small pieces of wood that were in the house. With single digits lurking, I decided to hold off on his wood shed another week or two.

Just an update, Happy to say I was able to submit a $100 amount toward Paul's Grandkid education fund yesterday. His daughter was very surprised. As payments come it, this total will rise and I will let you know as we progress. Thank you to All who have participated.

Box #15 is a USPS medium flat rate box.

Fifteenth box has Live oak, Blue mahoe, Sugar maple, Red maple, White oak and European beech. Many of these woods have figure and are pictured. If you need more information, ask. There will be other wood packed with these to assure the box is filled to capacity. Many of these items will be great for jewelry, stoppers, pens and finials.

Box #16 is a USPS medium flat rate box.

Sixteenth box has River red gum, Rubberwood, Black locust, Limba, Paela, Box elder, Panga panga, Santos mahogany, Leopard wood, AZ mesqite, Itannin and European beech. These woods are pictured. If you need more information, ask. There will be other wood packed with these to assure the box is filled to capacity. Many of these items will be great for jewelry, stoppers, pens and finials.

Seventeenth box has She-oak, Eucalyptus, English brown oak, Spalted red oak, American holly, Jelutong, Willow bustic, Machiche, Black & white ebony, Paela and Jatoba These woods are pictured. If you need more information, ask. There will be other wood packed with these to assure the box is filled to capacity. Many of these items will be great for jewelry, stoppers, pens and finials.

@Mr. Peet will tell you more, but the short answer is that these wood samples belonged to @phinds , Paul Hinds, a collector and identifier of exotic woods, as well as a great woodturner in his own right and a mainstay of this message board. His website is still up and should stay up for the foreseeable future, and it's a great resource: http://hobbithouseinc.com/personal/woodpics/

Mr. Hinds died recently, and Mr. Peet is distributing his sample collection. Each box costs $23 to ship; Mr. Peet is asking $25 for each box. (If you can send more, the extra will go into Mr. Hinds's grandsons' college fund. The $25 covers shipping, plus a little extra for the time spent packing and mailing the boxes out. Nobody's making much money.) If you want one, just make a post saying that you want it, and he'll contact you with payment details.
 
Mr Peet ( @Mr. Peet ) please put me down for box #17. I bet I can slice and dice those pieces into inlays and box lids and other small projects.
Can I settle up when I get back from fishing, Feb 2?

PS: If you're going to stuff the box with other pieces I can better use longer flat pieces rather than shorter squared blanks. Thanks.
