Tried to sign up for a paypal account but apparently you need to be 18, alas I am only 17. Is there any way a kid like me can use paypal? Thanks for the help,

Nate

Did do on what Mike said. If you have older siblings that is another option .
If you only had a short time til you were 18 it may pay to use a friend or family members account til you can use your own.

I'm pretty sure I used PayPal before I was 18. I may have lied about it...who knows. How would they know? Not saying you should....

I think if you have a credit or debit card you can use paypal as a guest to pay for items & not have to prove your are 18. It has something to do with 18 being the minimum age to be able to enter into any type of legal binding agreement. Of course this would only work for buying not selling.

Thing with 'not telling the truth' with PayPal, is they can 'freeze' your account, or worse...

I would think that you can still send people funds to their PayPal accounts for purchasing via a 'check' or 'debit card'. But accepting payment without an account is impossible, unless family has an account....then it would be easy enough to just use their account.

Thanks for all the help guys. I don't think it would be a good idea to say that I am older than I am because if anyone does ever get into my account or something (not that I have any money:), I am sure that is the first thing paypal checks. I guess I will just have to use the parent's.

Thanks

Nate, also you should consider old fashioned paper (money orders & checks). I still get emails from customers asking if I will take paper. I always do and I never wait for it to clear before I ship an order. I have probably done this 50 times in the last 9 years that I have sold wood and I've never been given bad paper a single time. Woodworkers as a whole are as honest as they come. I'd have no problem sending you wood before I even got your check. Just another thing for you to consider.

huh, I actually like that better too, good to know that you guys don't mind that.

Thanks

We do it here also, I have quite a few folks that like to do this, with PayPal being anti-gun, you would be surprised......
