Small board of Juglans neotropica sometimes called Peruvian Walnut, Columbian Walnut or Nogal.

There are lots of places that sell 1" or thinner stock, but I am looking for either 1.5" or 8/4 thickness. Does not need to be planed. One small board about 20 to 24" long would be enough.
 
Check with Boone over at Bell Forest. They sell Peruvian Walnut, and its very nice quality (as is everything from Bell Forest). They only list 4/4 and some turning blanks, but you can often special order non-standard sizes from dealers. I haven't tried to order non-standard Peruvian walnut, but I had Boone cut me some extra large diameter dowels in the past. Also note, they list their Peruvian walnut as Juglans spp., so if you specifically need it to be j. Neotropica, definitely confirm first.
 
If you're still stuck I can ask Surrey Timbers, who did your Rhodesian teak. They have 7/8" listed but might have thicker.
 
Many of the South American walnut species are lumped and sold under one name when being shipped elsewhere. If a Latin name is needed it is often defaulted to "neotropica". Getting South American walnut that is truely species specific is not as easy as it sounds. Best of luck.

P.S. That is why Bell Forest Products often just list spp. It is more truthful the majority of the time.

So is Juglans Neotropica just a fabricated name? If so, that's really messed up ha ha

No, not fabricated. It just becomes a default when the real name is not known.

Similar to J. nigra being a default in the USA when not knowing which black walnut it is.
