Hi Folks!
Not so much an ID more a call for any experiences or thoughts.. I recently read about Phoebe zhennan and its piqued my interest. I have never ever seen it for sale anywhere, and I doubt I ever will! From what I can find, it seems quite low density, and easy to work, but supposedly is incredibly durable!
Has anyone here ever worked with it/had it/even seen it?

We have at least one member in Taiwan who had a piece he was showing off. It was atypical. Don't know if we have a picture of typical or not on this site. The wood does have a small online sales presence.
If you punch it into the search bar (magnifying glass at the top right) you should find at least Byron's piece.

Thanks! I did have a bit of a look, and saw the pieces you are referring to! Interestingly, looks a bit different to the pieces I have seen online, but I wonder if thats a regional thing? What I have seen online does look more yellow/gold but that might just be some clever filters

I got it from a guy in Vietnam who posts on Instagram. I don't remember what I paid but it wasn't as bad as you'd think.

Interesting! I had no idea it was even available ever - maybe I'll have to look for some. I'd probably only want a 4x4 square to try out and make a few bits from! Have to see if there are any small pieces about :)
