Had a young driver (16+ yrs old) pull out in front of me while I was traveling down the highway at 55 mph. He pulled away from a stop sign at a busy intersection and didn’t see me. (And, somehow, I didn’t see him pull out in front of me either)

Luckily we all walked away as the safety stuff, seatbelts and airbags, all did their job. Thankfully, I t-boned his SUV on the passenger side, and not the drivers side.

He spun around (as did I) and his car then whacked a fully restored 1968 Dodge Charger, who was on the other side of the street waiting at another stop sign. The Charger owner wasn’t too happy (to say the least) as he had just picked up the car a couple months ago.

Bummer all the way around.

I had the only injury, a cracked sternum, probably from the seat belt or airbag deployment. This happened on May 20, so I’ve had to take it easy. I’m healing well, but not all the way back yet.

Hoping to get back to normal lifestyle real soon……

Oh, I bought a new truck about 10 days ago. My 2018 was totaled.

I’ve always considered myself a defensive driver (motorcycle rider too) but this one caught me somehow. Be careful out there!

Wow. That car looks destroyed. I'm happy to hear that you weren't.

Accidents are bad. You can't plan for them, you don't know when they will happen and worst of all, they might not even be your fault (as with the owner of the third car) It is good to hear that you managed to move on from it.

Did you buy another Silverado, i have 17 2500. Love the ride and luxury. Mileage sucks but bought to tow.

Yep - for unknown reasons I’ve have been married to Chevy’s since 1984 (S-10). Have had full size since 2007.

The new one is a 2026 with the 4 cylinder turbo. Had read good things about the engine (over 300 HP) and I don’t do any towing, so figured I’d give it a go. Wasn’t overly thrilled with the V-8 in the wrecked 2018. It was okay, but I didn’t really like 1/2 the cylinders shutting down once up to speed. Not sure how much difference it really made with gas mileage since the majority (probably 60/40) of my miles are more City than highway.

Anyway, had the spray in bed liner installed this morning. Ordered the hard tonneau cover and running boards, but they haven’t come in yet.

My 2018 was 4-door extended cab w/6 1/2’ bed. This one is crew cab with 5’8” bed. Will be fine for hauling logs around anyway.
Thanks for asking Mike.

Glad you are okay. Yep, motorcycle rider also which I believe helps my awareness but I still get surprised. Luckily not as surprised as you so far.

Way cool. I have the 5'8" with hard lid. Engine stays v8. Kathie's Tahoe changes. I tried plug-in to make it stop. It worked -would not start. 😀. Guess we will find out. Both 17s. Hers both in 18. Zero trouble so far.
Hers is black. Sure looks good when clean. Mine white always looks just fine...

Like you said before, they ride so nice and luxurious too.

Wow....thats crazy. Glad to hear you're ok.
Nice lookin chevy!
Mines a 2016. I had the program delete for the cylinders. So it stays a V8. I did some calculations and It was not comparable from 4 to 8.
Pull me over red!!!

Glad you are ok. With a fractured sternum, cardiac contusion or worse could have happened.
