Pill boxes with Fordite lid insets

Penn State Industries used to sell these little round pill boxes to which folk could attach an attractive disk - figured wood, burl, or (as I do) Fordite. I can't find them on the website any more, I got these in a batch of stuff somebody was clearing out of their shop.

As always with Fordite - you never know what you're going to get.

Those are awesome Duncan! how did you secure the fordite disc for turning? some sort of jig?

Thanks! Nothing fancy - I already had a waste block screwed onto a face plate, I just faced it off and turned a half inch or so down to the diameter of the recess as a target size. I used double-sided tape to hold the first couple of pieces, then switched to hot glue for the last couple, which seemed to work better. When things were getting wet the tape didn't hold so well.
