I noticed when my lathe came in that the pallet was all made from plywood bits.
Decided to try and make something from the scraps.

Wood had lots of voids and cracks! Used filler for the bad bits.

Added some ceder and a piece of walnut. Cover is not down all the way. Waiting for shellac to cure.

Great! Surprised it turned so well. Guess sharp tools would make a difference. Chuck

Very nice. Just wasn’t sure how it would turn. Looks very unique. Yes, we may know what it is, but others may wonder. Nice lid embellishment.

Persistence pays off!

I've seen some use baltic birch glued up in interesting ways that has produced some spectacular patterns and forms.

Like John said, I'd probably never try it, but I'm curious to know, now that you've tried it, will you do it again, maybe with better ply?

I'm sure I will try it again! I love the challenge of making something from a piece normally thrown away!

Here’s a piece I own turned and then carved from plywood—not by me. I’ve always marveled at people who can turn plywood. Good job, Phil!
