In the midst of the busiest tourist season in years and getting low on raw material for my production work. Looking for defect free, dry, spalted, fancy or unique material that will make 2.5 x 5.5“ minimum blanks similar to the pics. Will pay in check only or trade. Thanks.

I don't have much thick dry wood. I am starting to saw thicker for members to use for bigger turnings. They will be a couple years drying...
May have a couple pieces of apple or walnut but those are woods you have in abundance as I recall.

Will have to take a moisture meter to them and verify before continuing this... if they are as dry as I hope them to be, I will shoot some pictures of 2.75x 5.75 or larger.
Thanks, would like 6 in a mfrb if can.

Those are beautiful Mike- but the last one has such exquisite & dynamic “flame grain” and/or “moiré pattern!

These are my three best so far. I would have to trim to length of course, and width on a couple. If this is too rustic, I totally understand. I was only able to salvage this AFTER it was cut into firewood lengths for 5 years. My nicest figured blanks were cracked with ring shake. At either 4 inches wide or 2 inches thick.

By the way, my moisture meter.said they were ok but it was acting a little weird today. The box elder is about 18 month to 2 years drying and the apple was 5 years then resawed about 12 to 18 months ago and stored in the shed.

The apple is too rustic for my use, checks bugs. We have FBE logs dried and ready to be cut into billets, just gotta get to her house and do the work. Thanks and appreciate the effort Frank.
No problem. Once I started cleaning the apple blanks up, I wasn't sure either that's why I mentioned it to you. The fbe is mostly just BE with a little curl. That pink won't last til the water gets hot...
It was still something I enjoyed doing. I haven't made much besides animal shelters for the last month so it was enjoyable to make some shavings again
