What is your one favorite "woodworking-related project" you have made yourself?

My bench or Kathie's step stool. Stool has gotten a lot more use than expected. Kids chair , some one is always in or on it. 25 years of tough use, probably time to refinish.
The bench, I use every day.

A salad server. It is very mundane but it sees so much use. It is also my second ever spoon so it holds it’s own special place.

Kitchen spoons and utensils are used most often. And an oops cutting board that just happens to fit across my kitchen sink perfectly. Mission style end tables in my living room. And I had a black walnut kitchen table that I loved but the ex has that now, it wouldn't fit in my house, but I did love that table.

Probably a coffee table that I made with my son a couple of years ago. Black Walnut herringbone pattern on top, with Cocobolo trim. Oak casing. Chuck IMG_8845.JPG

For me the favorite thing is a bowl made of a large chunk of Red Oak picked from the side of the road in east Texas when visiting a friend. It's a nice piece that is the perfect side for chips or popcorn in the living room.

Would be impossible to pick a favorite! But here are a few of my favorites. There are certainly others I could add to my list of favorites, but these are among the top.

Kitchen Hutch

Kitchen Table (And the top really needs to be refinished at this point after many meals have been eaten and memories made around it.)

KT24.jpg

Workbench (I did eventually put a handle on the vise! Maybe one of these days I'll actually build that lower shelf for it...)

Cherry bookcase I made about 11 years ago. Combo of power and hand tools, raised panels on the sides done with hand tools, but an excuse to buy a nice router to do the flutes on the front stiles and the edging on the top.
