redbud potcall blanks

I have an 8" diameter round that has been sitting in the basement 20 years and in a barn before that. Red bud can season very poorly. I bet if I milled some, it would be chalk full of checks, collapse and likely riddled with bug damage. If someone was into casting, might be an interesting outcome. My wood was a centerpiece specimen entering into the north east side of the Hub, Penn State. Came down in the ice storm of 1997.

I’ve got some green Red bud Logs, but need to look around my shop later to see if I have any dry. How many blanks are you wanting? Do you have a preferred size if green?

There may be a few ways to accelerate the drying and lower the chance of cracking. Microwaving with plastic wrap initially to equalize moisture loss, soaking in alcohol or boiling for an hour. You can search the forums for these terms to read more about this, or send me a private msg with your cell number if you want to discuss these drying methods over the phone.

If youll take $13.25 for it, Ill take it. May make good strikers if not wide enough for pots.
