Hi all,
We recently took on a bit of a risky but rewarding project in the workshop - bringing an old, moldy bowl blank back to life. It had been sitting around for quite a while and didn’t look like much at first, but we decided to see what could be salvaged. After carefully cutting away the worst areas and working through the turning process, we were really surprised by the character of the wood. There were some interesting grain patterns and textures hiding beneath the surface, and it turned into a piece with far more personality than we expected.
We filmed the whole process, from the initial inspection right through to the final finish, and have included the YouTube video if anyone’s interested in seeing how it all came together. We’re always looking to improve, so feel free to share any advice, tips, or even what you might have done differently - we’d genuinely appreciate the feedback!
