Just finished a shaver kit for one of my sons. He requested a Katalox stand, and a Bloodwood razor handle. The kit is from Craft Supplies USA. This was a new experience for me, and perhaps close to pen turning, which I have not done. Had to buy a few accessories for my lathe in order to complete the kit. Watched the how-to video from Craft Supplies USA several times to ensure I was on task. Once I caught on, it was reasonably a breeze. Happy about that as I have 2 more kits to build in the future. Both wood species were easy to work with, and turning was completed with ease. Think the most challenging thing was to try to pair up the 2 wood pieces for symmetry purposes. My son asked for a satin finish on the wood, so I used Shellawax, which should fit the bill. Chuck
